Our Programs
SOAR Academy
Most consultants tell you what to do, but we’ll also show you how to do it.
SOAR (Speak Out & Run) Academy is an online training program with personalized support for political operatives and campaign staff. SOAR is 10+ hours of comprehensive, granular level, and on-demand courses for a fraction of the cost of consultant fees. Plus, it includes access to our team of professionals for coaching and support once a week during office hours.
We know a lot of grassroots campaigns and causes can’t afford a big fancy firm like us — but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve professional level help. We take volunteers, students, and new staffers and give them the tools and knowledge to run a professional, efficient campaign. In other words: SOAR Academy trains you to take our jobs one day.
Paid Internship and Training Program
Internships should not be accessible only to those who can afford to work for free or know someone that can get them “in”. That’s how you get legacy political families and nepotism on the campaign trail.
That’s why our program is paid.
Evinco interns get a well-rounded experience in all aspects of political consulting and an inside view of entrepreneurship and the operations of a small business. Through training and shadowing, face time with clients, and real-time assignments that are actually used on the campaign trail, Evinco interns leave the program prepared to take on their next career challenge with experience in communications, fundraising, policy, digital strategy, and practice contributing to a non-toxic work environment that recognizes them as humans.
Interns remain a part of Team Evinco long after their session is up — we have groups and mechanisms to keep in touch, offer additional training and support, and often review resumes, provide letters of recommendation, and reference checks for interns long after they leave the program.
Additionally, our internship team works with interns to ensure they are ready to land a full-time role in the political campaign world at the end of their internship, if they so wish. This portion of our training and shadowing program includes, but is not limited to, trainings and personal feedback on resumes, cover letters, elevator pitches, networking, and more.
We accept applications for the Paid Internship and Training Program multiple times a year.
Fellowship Program
Interns who show a vested interest in Evinco culture and clients and proficiency in an area of consulting that matches the current business needs of the firm may be offered a Fellowship upon the end of their session. Fellows commit to one area of politics and serve as a member of the corresponding department for the remainder of the election cycle where they receive continued in-depth training and mentorship on the subject matter. They have the opportunity to work on high-level deliverables and get face time with clients.
Our fellows take a deep dive into one of the political departments at Evinco (digital, fundraising, general consulting, or policy) and get into the nitty-gritty of the strategies, projects, and clients of that department and see how consulting can really make a difference.
Fellows commit to finish the election cycle with one Evinco department, and are employed part-time as a member of our team. Because fellowships last the duration of the cycle, fellows have an opportunity to see their work from start to finish.
This program aims to give our jack-of-all-trades interns experience specializing in one aspect of politics, building a new generation of consultants that actually reflect the communities we are trying to help.
Informational Interviews and Trainings
As part of our commitment to building a bench of diverse, progressive operatives we are happy to share our time, space, and journeys with those who may be interested in a career in politics free of charge.
Have questions about your future? Need a training for your Democratic club or campaign team? Want to book a guest speaker for a class or seminar?
We’ll tell the unvarnished truth about the ups and downs of political life and this weird-ass industry. (That’s the clinical term).
*We reserve the right to decline any engagement, informational interview, training, or meeting during busy political seasons, the unavailability of staff capacity, a lack of shared values, misalignment of the planets, or any other reason.
